Subsidence Repairs to Entrance Steps to a Residential Property in Central London recently completed for the sum of £35k + VAT.

This turned out to be a very complex, intricate little project which required a bespoke structural design.

The properties are located to various communal gardens with trees in close proximity. Tree root subsidence cases concern structural damage to buildings caused by desiccation of the sub-soil by the unchecked growth of roots from a nearby tree or hedge.

In this case, the communal entrance steps have suffered from subsidence dramatically causing the lowest tread to drop and various structural cracking apparent to the local area. The incoming water main was also affected.

The works included breaking out the existing bottom step and excavating down to the existing foundations. New foundations were then designed by a structural engineer which included the introduction of additional steel reinforcement. New concrete foundations were then poured prior to new tiles laid to match the existing.
